a 9:05pm train. If we walked quickly, we could catch
it. But Xi Si was not in a hurry at all. She walked
leisurely, as if she was going for a stroll. When we
got to the train station, the train had just left. The
next train would be available only half an hour later.
Xi Si insisted on walking back to the dormitory. It
was far away. It would take us about one hour to get
there. To me it was nothing, but I was afraid that Xi
Si could not walk that long. She looked weak and
delicate. I suggested that we wait for the next train.
She laughed and said one hour’s walk was nothing.
She loved sports and loved walking. And so we
walked, side by side, in the darkness. While walking,
she said nothing. She took hold of one of my arms
and locked on to me. My heart was beating fast and
blood was raging through my body. Several times I
nearly lost control of myself. When we were closing
to our dormitory, I finally could no longer control
