Dwarf was transferred back to the coal mine to dig

coal, a new worker master had been promoted to be a

leader in our school to replace Dwarf. He was short

but strong with a pot-belly. He was nicknamed Bear.

He pulled a long face when he saw me. He said, “Do

you secretly listen to the Voice of America at

midnight?”

“I often wake up at midnight and can’t fall

asleep again. At that point, I like to listen to music

for a moment so that I can sleep again. You know I

suffer from insomnia.”

“Then how do you know the story about ‘the

Empress of Red China?’”

“I listened to it by chance - totally by chance. I

change channels frequently at midnight. I couldn’t

see the channels clearly. I don’t know how I heard it.

I listen to the radio just because I have been suffering

from insomnia!” I explained.
