               no match for Squint. He was trying to instigate me to
               fight Squint so that he  could sit  on the  top of  the
               mountain and watch the tigers fight. Just as I was
               preparing to accept Squint’s challenge, he had got in
               trouble.  Monkey King was overjoyed  to see Squint
               be beaten black and blue as a whitewasher.
                       Monkey King had sharp eyes and was politically
               sensitive. If anything politically improper happened
               even  in our bedrooms,  it wouldn’t escape his eyes.
               He would inform the leaders of our school.
                       I had a semiconductor receiver. At  midnight, I
               would listen to  The Voice of America with an
               earphone. Occasionally I would revealed a bit  of
               information  that I heard from VOA. Monkey  King
               quickly understood what I did at night. He even got
               up at midnight to check my actions. Soon the leaders
               of our school knew what I did at night. I was asked to
               see the  new leader, a  new worker master. Since
