               friend: a thousand cups is still too little - you had to


               drink as much as you could and if one does not drink,



               one  is not  considered as a good friend. They


               proposed toasts in turn. Xi Si found it hard to refuse



               them. She had to drink quite a bit. Then they made


               her drink more. Xi Si was not able to cope with them.



               She drank a little more and soon her face grew red. I


               knew she was going to faint. But the officers didn’t



               let her go and kept forcing her to drink. I took a look



               at the regimental commander. He watched  his


               subordinates force Xi Si to drink wine. I immediately


               understood why they kept forcing Xi  Si to drink.



               This was the trick I had experienced. He wanted to



               make Xi  Si drunk so  that he  could take the


               opportunity and  do it with her while she was in a



               comatose state. This was a common way for a rude


               worker or a peasant to force a girl to  marry him.  I



               never thought that, as a PLA officer, the regimental
