everything she said on a piece of paper and asked her
to sign. He should know that. It should be taken as a
confession book. Dwarf seemed to wake up. He said
he didn’t forget it. He would use it as an excuse to
persuade the other members in the authority to
approve her to be transferred to her husband’s school.
He would say to the other members that since she
was separated from her husband for so long, she
couldn’t bear the loneliness and had done something
improper with Soapy. With that excuse, he was sure
to persuade the other members of authority to agree
to approve her application to reunite her husband. On
the other hand, he stressed that he had not brought it
with him.
She knew Dwarf very well. He was a cunning
and sly and devious yellow dog. If the piece of paper
with the words she confessed was kept in his hand,
